Accredited Practising Dietitians: 
What Do We Do?

Accredited Practising Dietitians (APDs) are health professionals with University qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics.

APDs undertake ongoing education to comply with the DAA's guidelines for best practice.  We are qualified to advise individual clients and groups on nutrition-related matters.  We have the clinical training to advise on dietary management in:

  • Cholesterol and lipid abnormalities
  • Weight management
  • Childrens' nutrition
  • Cancer-related nutritional problems
  • Diabetes and impaired glucose tolerance
  • Food allergy & food chemical intolerance
  • Healthy eating and Nutritional Assessment
  • Plant Based Nutrition & Vegetarian eating
  • Hostels & Nursing Homes
  • Irritable Bowel and other intestinal problems
  • Pregnancy and lactation
  • Nutrigenomix (CBD clinic)
  • Other areas

How Much Does It Cost To See An Accredited Dietitian?

Our fees are within the range of fees charged by private Dietitians in SA.  Check with the individual Dietitian regarding fees and availability of credit card facilities.

We are registered with all major private Health Insurance Funds and we recommend insured clients check with their own Fund on eligibility for rebates.

Do I Need A Referral From My Doctor?

Adults are welcome to attend without referral. Referrals are preferred for children under two years.

Work Cover clients need a referral from their Case Manager.
